Learn About Genitourinary Cancers

The Urology Oncology Clinic at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute treats genitourinary cancers including prostate, bladder, renal (kidney), penile, and testicular cancers. The clinic has a multidiscplinary approach to treatment, bringing together oncologists, radiologists, and other health care specialists to determine the best treatment options for each patient. The Urology Oncology clinic services include:

  • Provide comprehensive, multi-modality care to patients with genitourinary malignancies
  • Promote patient education and early detection programs
  • Define standards of care guidelines
  • Evaluate new therapeutic modalities
  • Facilitate research that translates from the laboratory to the clinic
  • Involve community physicians and allied services

In addition to state-of-the-art medical treatment, patients may be offered opportunities to participate in clinical trials offered through the Urology Oncology Group (UCOG), the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). Patients may also receive additional services at the Cancer Institute, including rehabilitation and counseling.
